Adding to the permanent collection each year with purchases and donations of art from local and regional contemporary artists, the gallery has an historical art collection with four permanent displays covering art from 1830 up to 1960 as well as a contemporary art collection of more than 2500 works. Since 1950, Thielsen Gallery has represented Canadian paintings, sculpture, and graphics with a strong interest in the Painters Eleven group.
